Dynamic electric motor analyser Baker EXP4000

Adiradh offers the Dynamic Electric Motor Analyser Baker EXP4000 for online testing, troubleshooting, and condition assessment of motors while they are operating. Moreover, the EXP4000 measures motor and system parameters under real operating conditions. Therefore, technicians can assess problems that may appear only when a motor is running under load. In addition, the analyser examines electrical and mechanical behaviour across the motor system. Also, advanced software algorithms help separate electrical issues from mechanical problems. Consequently, maintenance teams can investigate the root cause more effectively. Furthermore, the EXP4000 supports power quality, motor performance, current, spectrum, torque, VFD, continuous monitoring, transient, and efficiency analysis. Therefore, one instrument can support several motor diagnostic tasks. In addition, its rugged, portable, battery-powered design supports field testing. Finally, the Baker EXP4000 is suitable for predictive maintenance, motor troubleshooting, performance assessment, and condition-based maintenance in industrial environments.

Overview

The Baker EXP4000 Dynamic Electric Motor Analyser is designed for testing motors while they remain in normal operation. Moreover, it captures electrical and mechanical information from the motor, power supply, and driven equipment. Therefore, users can assess motor performance under actual operating conditions instead of relying only on offline tests.

In addition, the EXP4000 covers nine testing domains: power quality, machine performance, current analysis, spectrum analysis, torque evaluation, variable-frequency drive monitoring, continuous monitoring, transient analysis, and motor efficiency. Furthermore, continuous monitoring can capture intermittent problems over several days using multi-parameter event triggers. Consequently, faults that may not appear during a short inspection can be investigated. Also, the analyser can connect through motor junction boxes, instrumentation cabinets, and motor control centres. Finally, the optional EP1000 Dynamic Motor Link provides a permanent low-voltage connection point for convenient MCC testing.

About Product

The Baker EXP4000 is a portable dynamic motor analysis system for online assessment of electric motor systems. Moreover, it measures and analyses voltage, current, power quality, motor performance, torque, and other operating parameters. Therefore, users can examine the interaction between the power supply, VFD, motor, and driven load.

In addition, the analyser uses spectrum analysis to identify patterns associated with issues such as broken rotor bars and bearing faults. Also, torque analysis can help identify over-torque conditions, cavitation, mechanical imbalance, bearing degradation, and shaft misalignment. Furthermore, transient analysis supports investigation of events such as motor starting. Consequently, the EXP4000 can support both routine diagnostics and investigation of difficult operating problems. The unit supports CT measurement ranges from 5 to 2000 A, Ethernet communication, and 110–240 V input power. Finally, the analyser can operate from AC power or batteries, supporting portable field diagnostics.

Technology & Benefits

The Baker EXP4000 uses multi-domain electrical and mechanical analysis to evaluate a motor while it is running. Moreover, this approach provides information from the motor, its power supply, VFD, and driven load. Therefore, technicians can investigate whether an issue is electrical, mechanical, load-related, or linked to power quality. In addition, spectrum analysis and torque evaluation provide further diagnostic information. Consequently, root-cause investigation can be more focused.

Furthermore, the EXP4000 provides continuous monitoring for intermittent problems. Therefore, users can monitor critical motors for several days and capture events using triggers across 41 parameters. Also, the analyser supports transient monitoring for events such as starting. In addition, VFD analysis can identify issues involving harmonics and VFD operation. Finally, the rugged battery-powered design supports testing at motor junction boxes, MCCs, and remote industrial locations.
