Sweep frequency response analyzer-SFRA

Power transformers are some of the most vital components in today’s transmission and distribution infrastructure. Transformer failures cost enormous amounts of money in unexpected outages and unscheduled maintenance. It is important to avoid these failures and make testing and diagnostics reliable and efficient.Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA) is a powerful & sensitive method to evaluate the mechanical integrity of core, windings & clamping structures within power transformers by measuring their electrical transfer functions over a wide frequency range

Adiradh Energy offers Sweep frequency response analyzer (SFRA)  Models FRAX101-FRAX99-FRAX150  detects mechanical and electrical changes of the core and winding assembly of power transformers. Major utilities and service companies have used the FRA method for more than a decade and the method is covered in international standards. The measurement is easy to perform and will capture a unique fingerprint of the transformer. The measurement result is compared to a reference fingerprint and gives a direct answer if the mechanical parts of the transformer are unchanged or not. Deviations indicate in Sweep frequency response analyser available in  India ,Hyderabad, chennai, Bangalore ,  Bhubaneswar, pune ,Delhi,Mumabi,Noida ,Broda and others geometrical and/or electrical changes within the transformer.

  • Advanced analysis and decision support built into the software. FRAX 150 with built in PC and touchscreen
  • Imports data from other FRA test sets
  • Wireless communication (FRAX 101)
  • Battery operated (optional FRAX 99 and FRAX 101)
  • Continuity control of ground connections (FRAX 101 and 150)
Transformers consist of multiple complex networks of capacitances and resistors that can generate a unique signature when tested at discreet frequencies and plotted as a curve. Sweep frequency response analyser  have features Frequency Range: 0.1 Hz – 25 MHz, user selectable, Dynamic Range/Noise Floor: >130d, Wireless communication and many others. FTB101 Several international FRA guides recommend verification integrity of cable and instrument before and after a test using a test circuit with a known FRA response supplied by the equipment manufacturer. FRAX comes with a field test box.FTB101 as a standard accessory and allows the user to perform this important validation in the field at any time and secure measurement quality

The IEEE guide for SFRA is IEEE C57.149 Guide for the Application and Interpretation of Frequency Response Analysis for Oil-Immersed Transformers. Other relevant SFRA documents include: IEC60076-18 Ed. 1 – 2012, Std. DL/T911-2004, and Cigré Technical Brochure No. 342, April 2008.
Difference between SFRA-Sweep frequency response analyser ,DFR-Dielectric frequency response &DFR-FRSL-Frequency Response of Stray Losses
power factor or tan delta test. traditionally  has been performed at line frequency 50 Hz only. It is a useful tool for assessing the health of (most of) the insulation systems of a transformer, but it has several shortcomings. Many of these can be eliminated by repeating the test over a range of frequencies A less well-known example is a short-circuit impedance measurement. This is typically used to look for winding deformation by evaluating the so-called leakage reactance. When this measurement is repeated at several frequencies, typically between 1 Hz and 500 Hz, with the focus on the resistive component of the results, unique diagnostic information becomes available. This is the FRSL technique..A common mistake is to confuse dielectric frequency response (DFR) and frequency response of stray losses (FRSL) tests with sweep frequency response analysis (SFRA) tests.Unfortunately, the tests are most definitely not the same and, while SFRA provides a lot of diagnostic information, it is not a substitute for the information provided by the other frequency-based tests. SFRA and DFR are two completely different tests. SFRA looks at any kind of mechanical changes inside the transformer whereas DFR is used to determine the moisture present in cellulose (solid insulation) of oil filled power transformers. The two tests have very different applications.SFRA test set FRAX Series  provides FRSL results concurrent with an SFRA short-circuit test measurement.
