Sweep Frequency Response Analysers FRAX 200

Adiradh offers the Sweep Frequency Response Analyser FRAX200 for detecting mechanical and electrical changes inside power transformers. Moreover, the FRAX200 uses Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA) to create a unique transformer response or fingerprint. Therefore, engineers can compare test curves with earlier results, phase-to-phase data, or reference measurements. In addition, the system can reveal winding movement, deformation, shorted turns, core movement, and clamping problems.

Furthermore, the FRAX200 provides a wide dynamic range and high measurement accuracy. Therefore, even small changes in transformer condition can be detected. Also, automatic testing, demagnetization, and ground-loop detection help improve test consistency. In addition, wireless connectivity and USB-C simplify field operation and data transfer. Consequently, technicians can perform transformer diagnostics more efficiently. Finally, the FRAX200 supports international SFRA standards, making it suitable for transformer manufacturing, commissioning, maintenance, fault investigation, and condition assessment.

FRAX 200

Overview

The FRAX200 Sweep Frequency Response Analyser is designed for advanced mechanical and electrical assessment of power transformers. Moreover, it applies a swept-frequency signal to a transformer winding and measures its response. Therefore, the resulting SFRA curve acts as a unique electrical fingerprint of the transformer. Changes in this fingerprint can indicate movement or damage inside the transformer.

In addition, the FRAX200 covers a test frequency range from 0.1 Hz to 25 MHz. Furthermore, it provides high-resolution measurements for detailed transformer analysis. The standard sweep uses 1046 test points, while users can increase this to as many as 32,000 points when required. Also, the system supports advanced FRAX analysis software. Therefore, users can compare several sweeps and evaluate magnitude, phase, impedance, and admittance data. Finally, automatic testing and built-in diagnostic functions support repeatable SFRA measurements in factory and field environments.

About Product

The FRAX200 is a digital Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA) test system for power transformer diagnostics. Moreover, it measures the transformer transfer function over a broad frequency range. Therefore, users can compare measured responses with reference curves to detect changes in the transformer core, windings, connections, and clamping structures.

In addition, the FRAX200 can help detect winding deformation, winding displacement, shorted or open windings, core movement, core connection problems, hoop buckling, and loose or broken clamping structures. Furthermore, its connection system is designed to provide repeatable test connections. Therefore, variations caused by poor or inconsistent test setup can be reduced.

Also, the FRAX200 includes automatic testing, demagnetization, and ground-loop detection. In addition, it supports wireless communication and USB-C connectivity. Finally, it supports SFRA measurements according to international guidance and standards such as IEC 60076-18 and IEEE C57.149.

Technology & Benefits

The FRAX200 Sweep Frequency Response Analyser applies a sweep-frequency test signal to the transformer and measures the response. Moreover, each transformer produces a characteristic response curve. Therefore, engineers can compare this curve with earlier measurements to identify possible internal changes. In addition, phase-to-phase and sister-transformer comparisons can support assessment when previous data is unavailable.

Furthermore, the FRAX200 offers a frequency range from 0.1 Hz to 25 MHz. Therefore, users can select the required range for different diagnostic needs. Also, its advanced software allows several sweeps to be displayed and compared. Consequently, changes in resonance, curve shape, or magnitude can be identified more easily.

In addition, built-in demagnetization helps control residual magnetism before measurement. Also, automatic ground-loop checks help verify the test setup. Therefore, repeatability improves. Finally, wireless connectivity, USB-C, automatic testing, and optional switching accessories can simplify transformer testing in the field.
