Sweep Frequency Response Analysers FRAX series (FRAX 200 & FRAX 150)

Adiradh offers Sweep Frequency Response Analysers FRAX (FRAX 200 & FRAX 150)series for accurate transformer diagnostics and condition assessment in power systems. These analysers help detect electrical and mechanical faults that are often difficult to identify using other testing methods. Moreover, the FRAX150 and FRAX200 are compact, rugged, and designed for reliable field operation. In addition, they meet all international standards for SFRA measurements, ensuring trusted and repeatable results. Therefore, engineers can compare present and past transformer fingerprints with confidence. Also, the advanced cabling technology improves test consistency and reduces measurement variation. Furthermore, the wide frequency range supports detailed analysis of transformer winding and core conditions. As a result, utilities can improve preventive maintenance and reduce unexpected failures. Finally, the FRAX series provides high accuracy, faster testing, and powerful software support for complete transformer health evaluation and long-term asset management.

FRAX 200

Overview

The Sweep Frequency Response Analysers FRAX series is designed for testing the mechanical and electrical integrity of power transformers using SFRA technology. It applies a sweep frequency test signal and records the transformer response to create a unique fingerprint. Moreover, this fingerprint helps detect winding displacement, shorted turns, open windings, loose clamping structures, core movement, and hoop buckling. In addition, the analyser supports accurate comparison with reference fingerprints for fault identification. The frequency range covers 0.1 Hz to 25 MHz, allowing detailed transformer analysis. Therefore, users can perform highly sensitive diagnostics across different transformer conditions. Also, the system offers fast testing with a typical measurement time of 64 seconds and a fast mode of 37 seconds. Furthermore, the compact structure supports easy field handling. As a result, maintenance becomes faster, safer, and more reliable.

About Product

The FRAX series is a high-precision Sweep Frequency Response Analyser developed for transformer mechanical integrity testing and advanced insulation diagnostics. It performs SFRA by injecting a low-voltage sweep frequency sinusoidal signal across transformer windings and measuring transfer function response over a frequency domain of 0.1 Hz to 25 MHz. Moreover, it detects axial displacement, radial deformation, winding collapse, shorted windings, open circuits, core movement, and broken clamping structures. In addition, impedance versus frequency and admittance versus frequency analysis improves diagnostic capability for complex transformer faults. The analyser supports up to 32,000 test points per sweep for high-resolution measurement. Therefore, detailed signature comparison becomes more accurate. Also, built-in demagnetisation, automatic testing, and ground loop detection improve testing reliability. Furthermore, shielded cable technology ensures repeatable results with reduced external interference.

Technology & Benefits

The FRAX series uses advanced Sweep Frequency Response Analysis technology to detect transformer faults with high precision and repeatability. It injects controlled low-voltage signals across a wide frequency spectrum and measures transformer response to create a diagnostic fingerprint. Therefore, winding deformation, core displacement, shorted turns, and structural failures can be identified without opening the transformer. Moreover, this non-destructive testing method improves maintenance safety and reduces service interruptions. In addition, digital analysis software supports magnitude, phase, impedance, and admittance views for better interpretation. Also, built-in ground loop detection and demagnetisation improve test stability and result consistency. Furthermore, fast testing mode reduces inspection time during shutdown periods. As a result, utilities can reduce unplanned outages and costly repairs. Finally, FRAX150 and FRAX200 improve transformer life management, maintenance planning, and long-term asset reliability.
